The trend information is provided to assist users exploring the raw data; it is a simple analysis and not recommended for climate change studies.

Select the period of interest by:
- Moving the range selector; or
- Using your mouse scroll to zoom in and out, and drag your mouse to pan.

Notes:

1. Trends have not been tested for statistical significance and are not displayed if the chosen time period is less than one year (daily data) or ten years (monthly and annual data).
2. Trends are only computed on full calendar years (so the trend is not influenced by the seasonal cycle that occurs in many variables).
3. SILO advises users against fitting trends to data containing interpolated data, or data which may contain discontinuities.
4. The years 1957 and 1970 are highlighted on some plots to remind users that discontinuities may exist at those times. (For further information, please see our FAQ on discontinuities.)
5. Monthly and annual values may be constructed from a combination of observed and interpolated data if observations are not available for every day in the given month or year. A given monthly or annual value is classified as being “mixed” if more than 5% of the input data are interpolated/observed.
